Unicorn Race Engineering

Unicorn Race Engineering is much more than a childhood dream, much more than a race car, and much more than a complicated design and construction project at Aalborg University. We represent an idea of how university education in Denmark should be organized.

It is largely about collaboration: between students from different programs, from different faculties, and not least between the students and the business sector. This ensures high interdisciplinary cooperation, relevance, and success criteria that are far more varied and complex than a few lines in a textbook could ever be. Of course, theory is absolutely necessary, and without it it would be impossible to design and build a competitive Formula race car, but theory must not stand alone, because as students it is important to have the opportunity to apply what we have learned in a real-world environment that at the very least matches the business sector. In this context, we at Unicorn Race Engineering have had the pleasure of working together with Worm Smede og Maskinværksted.

We collaborate with many companies and many different businesses, and our cooperation with Worm has been absolutely seamless—from the first working drawings to the final products, which can be said to be exactly what we were looking for—a product we can confidently rely on in the tough international competition against teams that are up to 10 times larger than us. Therefore, we will definitely continue the good cooperation with Worm and warmly recommend the company.
